The First English Dinner

CHAPTER ONE: THE ARRIVAL

It was a cold and clear night of a mid March day and three gorgeous boys were standing in front of a Pizzeria in Roe Alte. They were chatting animatedly under the dim light coming from the restaurant’s glass wall, waiting for the usual latecomers…a pretty girl with plaited hair and a tall fellow with dark big eyes.

After a while they arrived, coming out of the corner with enthusiastic explosion of joy!

The pioneer English group was gathered and the first English dinner was starting!!!

The happy company find a place in a big table in a corner of the main room: some other members of the group was supposed to come later and there was the hope that some unexpected ones would have come.

To decide what to eat was not an easy job… menus in Italian were the only available… and then the waitress was a bit confused by the inappropriate use of Italian mixed up with English. At last they got three pizza and two pasta, really enjoying that typical Italian food.

CHAPTER TWO: THE CHAT

Four boys and a girl around a table.

In few minutes the main peculiarity of every member of the group was clear.

There were Andrew, the businessman, Robert, the philosopher, J. Luke (Checcobecco), the good fellow, Mirco, the seducer, and Daisy, the buxom girl.

They dealt with subjects of great interest: their status single, pussy and big bamboo, the art of massages and a comparison between Russian and south-American women.

The first topic generated two factions: the one of those who beloved their condition and were looking for peace and joy inside themselves (at least at the moment) and the one of those who thought that happiness have to be shared in order to be deeply enjoyed (thanks to “Into the Wild” for the quotation).

The second topic was not really deeply analysed, but was a recurrent theme during all the night, being a versatile subject that fits well with every other issue! Here we had two factions too: of those who prefer pussy and those who prefer big bamboo…

Then, as at the time of Knights, a challenge was issued: Robert and Mirco will try to win a kiss on their cheek by Daisy, trying to relax her and solve her cervical contracture. Oils and perfumes are allowed. J. Luke will survey the trial while Andrew will document it with photos. The date of the challenge will be soon communicated to the group.

I miss the chat on Russian and south-American!!! I was speaking with JL of grammar.

CHAPTER THREE: THE DEPARTURE

The night went by so quickly that the Pizzeria’s closing time came soon and they were forced to go.

With sadness they noticed that no other member of the group had joined them.

They indulged for a while in the car park, under the light of a bright full moon: the night ended with hugs, kisses, handshakes, Easter wishes and the promise of meeting soon again!

The English Dinner group on Google

Dear diners,

I've created the mailing list english-dinner@googlegroups.com which allows all of us to keep in touch just sending one mail.

Also, a web site is available for group members.

I hope this will be useful to make it easier to share information and other English related stuff.

Andrew.

Organizing the First Dinner

Dear all,

thank you for your appreciation about the English Dinner initiative.
At this point we have to start with the harder task: organize the first dinner accomodating everyone's agenda! :-)
So please leave your comments below about your availability for the first and following dinners.

Thank you.
Andrew

The English Dinner Is Opening

Dear friends and colleagues,

I would like to arrange a special "English Dinner" to allow all of us to meet and speak English together.

I know or suppose that you are interested in speaking English, and I guess that doing that with friends and so nice people as you are could be a good option to improve (or to unimprove? :-) our spoken English.

This way we could avoid the stress of canonical teaching and set a kind of "cross learning", in the sense that each of us could be at the same time teacher or student, with no annoying hierarchy or official roles.

The ONLY rule of such meeting is: ITALIAN IS FORBIDDEN :-)
People speaking italian will be treated as an alien, and will be ignored at all.

I can make my little apartment at your disposal, but I will need some volunteer to cook good english food :-)
Otherwise we could eat pizza, or just having a drink somewhere in Belluno...

Please share any idea about this initiative if you like it.

Warmly
Andrew Rombald :-)
